A new walker that is safe and offers stability, a pair of orthopedic winter boots to stay dry and warm, helping a family replace their furnace in the dead of winter, these are just a few of the gifts that the JRC Foundation was able to provide over the past year. Thanks to the support from our donors and sponsors, we have funded a wide range of expenses, from big to small, for both the agency and also for the children and adults with developmental disabilities that we provide services to. In 2016, we plan to purchase a new bus to ensure access to the community for the people we support; and also, build a new integrated
playground which will include specialized equipment for children who rely solely on
wheelchairs for mobility. In addition, we will continue to enhance the quality of life for the people we support by hosting events that provide entertainment, enjoyment, and inclusion in our community.
Donations made to the JRC Foundation are used for:
- Purchases of equipment and supplies not covered by Medicaid or other supports
- Assisting families in guardianship or other special needs
- Supporting recreational events and activities
- Supporting training of staff and families for specialized skills
- Capital improvements to our residential and program sites
- Purchases of specialized vehicles for programming
- Other activities that support the Mission and Vision of the agency
