Downtown Kingston Toastmasters meets every Thursday from 7am to 8am with a 6:30am social time; gourmet coffee to start your day right. We meet inside of Café church, 333 Princess Street, Suite 200 (accessible off Queen Street).
Toastmasters works on a self-directed program, so you follow at your own pace. You learn about public speaking (and get better, and better, and better), giving and receiving feedback (so crucial in business), developing leadership skills (ditto), and there is also an opportunity to network.
Toastmasters is run by members. Membership is $90 for a year, and with that you receive everything you need to succeed in the program, including our Competent Communicator manual. The CC manual takes you through ten speeches that you prepare, with each speech helping you develop a different skill. There is no charge to come and enjoy a meeting. You only pay membership when you decide to join up. You also don't have to speak if you are just visiting.
